Meet the
Service Dog Trainers!

Linda Krutsinger founded Willing Partners to meet the increased need for service dogs for military veterans. A veteran herself, Linda feels a strong desire to make sure that the veterans in need have a service dog available to them that will meet their requirements and meet them free of charge.

Having trained her first service dog in 1989, Linda is well versed in the work it takes to take a dog all the way through puppyhood to that certified working dog, able to enter the public domain as a service dog. She brings her training ability to the private sector as well with the training of therapy dogs.

Seeing a need for change to the laws that govern service dogs resulted in Willing Partners having direct input on the revision of the service dog laws as goverened by the Department of Justice. This change in the laws prohibits those wishing to enter the public domain with any animal except a dog. The law further states that each dog must perform three trained tasks and be paired with a person who falls under the Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines.

As a member trainer for the International Association of Assistance Dog Partners Linda looks forward to helping make more needed changes in the laws governing service dogs. Currently paired with a golden retriever, Juneau, as her service dog, Linda also has first hand knowledge of working with a dog in public.

"I love working with the veterans and taking them through the training process. I see so many vets come through who really have no idea how they are going to meet the change in their lives that their disability brings. It's very rewarding to watch these guys as they learn to do more and more with their dogs."
Beth Halterman is a resident of Salem, Illinois. She brings her love of working with dogs to the Willing Partners family to help bridge the gap between pet owner's desires for that perfect canine companion and their goals.

Beth has been training since 2003 and enjoys the experience of helping our customers make obedience a way of life when it comes to their dogs. Her search for excellence in training helps keep Willing Partners abreast on the latest training techniques.

She has been involved in dog rescue for the past 15 years and currently has two rescues living with her.
Rhona Eklund is a trainer as well as the "go-to" lady for Willing Partners. Rhona is a married mother of three and grandmother whose super organizational skills keep our group running smoothly. She is avid animal lover and has been involved with Willing Partners for the past three years. Her partner, Amelia has given Rhona increased independence and a desire to help others train their own service dog."

In addition to her duties helping keep the Willing Partners group on track with administrative duties she leads students in the Public Access class. A unique feature of the Willing Partners training program she is able to provide the teams with practical exercises in public that range from how to use a shopping cart to protect the service dog to locating seating in a restaurant.
